He said this in an inquiry about the Refusal of a group of students to obtain a degree certificate from him at the graduation ceremony of that university.

He said that it was the right of the children to receive or not to accept the degree from him and he did not intend to comment further on it.

 At the graduation ceremony of the University of Colombo, a group of students refused to accept the degree certificate from Ananda Thera.
