The Maha Sangha and the Public requesting that the letter issued by the Secretary to the Ministry regarding the reinstatement of Dr. Safi Shiabdeen of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital and the payment of arrears be revoked. They made this request during a protest in Kurunegala.
The manner in which those responsible for the large-scale massacre committed by the doctor concerned were wrong from the very beginning, the chairman of the organization Ven. Jamburewela Chandraratana Thero stated.
The protest in front of the Kurunegala Hospital was joined by members of the Maha Sangha and a group of women who were allegedly tortured.
