Police have arrested a couple for selling their three-month-old baby and using the money to buy drugs.

According to the Kurunegala Police, the couple had sold the baby for Rs. 700,000.

A letter through a lawyer has revealed that the girl had been sold to another couple in the area.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the girl had bought drugs worth Rs. 30,000 from the sale and deposited the rest in a bank account.
