Navy arrests Indian fishermen in the North Sea

The Navy has arrested 43 Indian fishermen who were fishing in Sri Lankan waters.

Navy spokesman Capt. Indika de Silva said that they were arrested last night (18) in Sri Lankan waters near Delft.

Six fishing vessels were also taken into custody by the Navy.

The arrested fishermen and their vessels have been brought to the Myladi fishing harbor and further investigations are being carried out by the fisheries authorities, a Navy spokesman said.
