Good news for graduates who have joined the public service

The granting of permanent appointments to 51,000 graduates will commence on January 03, said the Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to look into the matter, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

He said that the group will be stationed at the designated work place as government development officers.

The 42,500 who have completed one year of training will be confirmed first and the rest will be confirmed on April 1 next year after completing one year of training.

Minister Dinesh Gunawardena also stated that there are about 22,000 permanent public servants who wish to join the teaching profession.
