Releasing the results of a study on the Omicron covid variant to the media, Israeli researchers said last Saturday that three doses of Pfizer – BioNTech vaccine provides significant protection against the new Omicron variant.
A study by the Israeli Sheba Medical Center and the Central Anti-Virus Laboratory of the Israeli Ministry of Health compared the blood antibodies of 20 people who received two doses six months ago with the blood antibodies of people who took the third dose a month ago.
“People who took the second dose six months ago have been found to have a lower level of action against the omicron virus,” said Dr. Gilli Rigov, director of Sheba’s infectious disease unit.
