A clash has taken place between two groups of inmates at the Badulla Prison yesterday afternoon.

Five detainees who were injured in the incident have been admitted to the Badulla General Hospital.

The clash is said to have taken place between a group of inmates who are being held in connection with the Easter attack and a group of other inmates.

The Superintendent of Prisons says that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
