Litro Gas Lanka has commenced the distribution of domestic LP gas conforming to the requirements of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).

The CAA said the new stock of domestic gas cylinders carries Polythene seals with a red logo on a white background along with the Litro Gas Lanka logo on the valves. 

Meanwhile, the domestic gas cylinders distributed by Laugfs Gas PLC are of yellow and blue colours, and also carry a Polythene seal.

The two gas companies will commence the distribution of the new stocks of domestic gas cylinders from today. 

New stocks of gas cylinders under the scrutiny of the CAA are being distributed after a number of gas-related explosions were reported from various parts of the country recently.

A Presidential Committee was also appointed to look into the matter and make recommendations, while samples of the gas were also tested by relevant authorities.

Following a brief suspension of the distribution of domestic gas cylinders from both companies, the authorities have now permitted the distribution. (NewsWire)
