Minister of State Shashindra Rajapaksa has stated that the Chinese Government is now at loggerheads with Sri Lanka.

He said the ship, which had a stock of organic fertilizer imported from China, had been stranded near Sri Lanka for about 70 days.

The Minister said that the Plant Quarantine Service stated that the stock of fertilizers was not suitable for entry into the country and that there were no harmful micro-organisms in the stock.

He also said that the Chinese government had expressed its concern to Sri Lanka when two government agencies submitted conflicting investigation reports.

He was speaking in Parliament during the debate on the Ministry of Agriculture Expenditure Head.
