Tamil People in Sri Lanka will celebrate Maha Viru day for LTTE no matter what happened

Secretary of the Tamil People’s Alliance and former Member of the Northern Provincial Council MK Sivajilingam says that Maha Viru celebrations will be held in many places in the Northern Province on the 27th.

He added that the Tamil people have a right and a duty to commemorate those who died in the war.

He said that the cancellation of the celebrations by the police was a violation of fundamental human rights as well as an immoral act.

However, he said that despite all obstacles, various festivals would be held on the 27th to commemorate the war dead.

He said this while he was addressing a media briefing in Jaffna.
