The Colombo National Hospital says that the number of eye diseases has increased due to the exacerbation of diabetes due to the corona virus infection.

Its director Dhammika Alahapperuma says that due to corona infections, many diabetics are unable to attend clinics to get proper medication.

He added that the risk of eye diseases has also increased as the rise in diabetes has a major impact on eye diseases.

He added that the acupuncture services at the National Hospital are functioning normally as the corona condition is currently under control.
