India becomes armed

India has bought a Russian-made high-powered missile system called the S-400. According to the Indian media, India has received its first stock of weapons.

The air defense systems are expected to be operational by January-February 2022.

The United States has opposed the purchase of the weapons from Russia, and has said it will impose sanctions on India in the future.
But the Indian media said that India had not demarcated the threat.

These missile defense systems are capable of detecting and attacking enemy fighter jets, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, ballistic missiles and drones over a range of 380 km.

Indian officials have said the missile systems are important to counter air threats from the Chinese and Pakistani sides.
