Around 700 in Sri Lanka have links with ISIS terrorists

  An investigation has been launched into 702 Sri Lankans suspected of being involved in terrorist activities and Maintaining close ties with members of the ISIS operates from India

The Terrorism Investigation Division has informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate.

The court spokesman said that while checking the mobile phone of the arrested suspect by the Indian state intelligence agencies, information about the relevant persons was reported.

Lectures, audio recordings and photographs of a Muslim extremist, Saharan Hashim, were also found on the phone.

The Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) has informed the court that the arrested suspect is being detained and questioned on detention orders.
