Cement shortage for another two months – Importers

Cement importers say the shortage of cement in the market will continue for another two months.

After a discussion with the Minister in charge of the subject yesterday (27) they stated that they expect an increase in the price of cement.

Cement importers stated, “This cannot be stopped in two days. It will take two months anyway. The reason for the shortage of cement is the dollar problem. So there could be a slight increase in prices.”

With the price of a 50 kg bag of cement is increased by Rs. 93, the price of cement is now Rs. 1,098.

However, traders allege that stocks are not being received properly and that such stocks are being received at various prices.
