Litro Gas says it will have to increase gas prices in the local market again in a short period of time.
The company’s chairman, Thushara Jayasinghe, said it would be difficult to stay stable in the global market without raising prices.
He said that there was no need to make false promises to the people that gas prices would be reduced in the future and that he would take necessary steps to bring gas prices under a fixed price.
He said that a sustainable program on gas prices would be planned in the future and that attention would be paid to maintaining a fixed price and focusing on proper management to bring down prices.
He points out that the current state of the country’s economy is not something that should be hidden from the public and that people are being misled into trying to politicize the economic problems that arise in Sri Lanka due to such concealment.
