The government has decided not to increase fuel prices

The Cabinet has decided not to increase fuel prices now.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday afternoon.

The Minister of Energy has stated that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will incur huge losses due to the increase in fuel prices in the world market and the appreciation of the dollar.

The President has said that fuel prices should not be increased today or tomorrow.
