Sri Lanka wins first match with Oman

Sri Lanka won the first Twenty20 match between the touring Sri Lanka team and the Oman team by 19 runs.

The Oman captain won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first. Sri Lanka scored 162 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Avishka Fernando scored an unbeaten 83 while skipper Dasun Shanaka scored an unbeaten 51 for Sri Lanka.

In reply, Oman could score only 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Naseem Kushi scored 40 and Mohamed Nadeem 32 for Oman.

Accordingly, the Sri Lankan team has been able to take the lead 1-0 in the two-match Twenty20 tournament.
