Minister Namal Rajapaksa went to ‘Conversation with the Village’ program in Moneragala District

Many development projects prepared on the request of the people of the Moneragala District under the ‘Conversation with the Village’ program implemented on a concept of His Excellency the President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa are already in operation and several other identified projects have been included in the main projects, Minister Namal Rajapaksa said.

This was stated by Minister Namal Rajapaksa while participating in a discussion held at the Moneragala District Secretariat to review the current progress of development projects being implemented in the Moneragala District.

Accordingly, all the issues raised by the people of Moneragala District to His Excellency the President and the common problems identified by the Public Administration Division for the welfare of the people can be resolved through active development projects in the future said the Moneragala District Secretary at the meeting.

During the discussion, the Minister pointed out to the heads of the relevant Ministries and Institutions that a final decision should be taken in consultation with the people and voluntary organizations in the area when planning a development project.

The Minister pointed out that farmers’ organizations could protest against the lack of water for farming during the implementation of a project to provide drinking water to the people.

The Minister said that during the implementation of a drinking water supply scheme in the Anuradhapura District, farmers’ organizations were able to take remedial action after pointing out that there was no water available for cultivation.

He emphasized that the development projects implemented by the present government are for the welfare of the people should be managed in a manner that is not unfair to any party.
