Minister of Justice apologizes to threatened Anuradhapura prisoners

Justice Minister Ali Sabri has apologized to prisoners at the Anuradhapura prison for allegedly being threatened by Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte.

He told parliament yesterday that the government was taking steps to investigate allegations leveled against Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte in Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons.

The Minister of Justice further stated that he condemned the incident and appointed a retired judge to conduct an independent inquiry into the matter.
