Prison headquarters say that CCTV camera systems have not been installed in Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons yet.
At present the cameras are installed only in the Angunakolapelessa, Kalutara and Boossa prisons.
In this context, it has become impossible to use CCTV footage in the investigation into the allegations leveled against Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte.
However, they say that every prison has a log book that records the entry of any person into any prison and that the notes can be used for relevant investigations.
