Local companies have sought permission from the government to increase gas prices in the local market

Local companies have sought permission from the government to increase gas prices in the local market.

Laugfs Gas recently announced a price increase, but said it was still losing money. Litro Gas is currently trading at a loss.

State Minister of Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna says that the company has proposed to the government to increase the price of gas due to the increase in the price of gas in the world market.

He added that further discussions are being held in this regard.

Meanwhile, the National Coalition for the Protection of Litro points out that the two gas companies have merged to form a new entity.

They also say in a statement that the future of Litro is completely in jeopardy.
