A group of nurses in Sri Lankan government hospitals are refraining from taking biological samples required for tests to identify corona infected people

It is reported that a group of nurses in government hospitals are refraining from taking biological samples required for tests to identify corona infected people.

The President of the Government Nurses Association Saman Ratnapriya says that his association has decided to resign as the nursing staff has not been assigned to obtain these specimens at the official level.

Although the nurses have been involved in the corona pandemic since its inception, the ministry has been asked to formally assign it in writing as their duty, but has decided not to do so as it has not yet been done.

He further said that even if a request is made to assign a written duty as a duty as it is a duty that does not belong to the nursing staff, it will not be fulfilled as there is a problem without duty.
