Dr. Chandima Jeewandara of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura states that there is no point in maintaining further travel restrictions between provinces.
He points out that the delta strain of the corona virus is spreading across the country and therefore there is no point in closing Colombo alone.
He said that more than 95% of the corona infected samples tested islandwide were identified as having the Delta strain, adding that the Delta strain is currently the leading strain in the country.
