Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has left the island this morning for a European tour.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, he left to deliver a keynote address at the inaugural session of one of the oldest universities in Europe.
He is scheduled to leave for Italy after the lecture..
Meanwhile, Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith Cardinal recently said that the purpose of the Prime Minister’s visit to Italy was to meet with the Pope and conceal the truth about the Easter attack.
However, the Prime Minister’s Media Unit and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that no meeting with the Pope would take place during the Prime Minister’s visit.
