Arrack sold online as an essential service

Police have raided a racket to sell arrack at a higher price online under the guise of wholesale trade under essential services.

 Moratuwa Egoda Uyana Police stated that several suspects involved in the racket were arrested along with bottles of arrack.

The suspects were arrested following information that they were selling government-approved arrack at a higher price.

While ordering food from a wholesale store, arrack has also been racketed so that it can be ordered online.

A bottle of arrack is sold for between Rs. 2500-2800 and a separate fee is charged for transportation.
