The government has decided to provide an allowance of Rs. 2,000 to families who have lost their income during the period when the country is closed till August 30.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Finance states that such activities will commence through the District Secretaries from Monday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has already informed the District and Divisional Secretaries to be prepared to take action in this regard.

 Earlier, when the country was closed, the government provided an allowance of Rs. 5,000 per month.
