A vehicle belonging to the Basnayake Nilame of the Natha Devalaya of the Shree Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and one of his friend’s vehicle has been attacked with acid at the Dalada Maligawa premises.
The police stated that the two vehicles were severely damaged and investigations are underway.
The attack had taken place while the vehicles were parked near the entrance of the High Security Zone of the Temple of the Tooth.
The attack took place at the end of the first Kumbala Perahera at the Temple of the Tooth, police said.
