The Director of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Dr. Sagari Kiriwandeniya states that 5-7 corona infected patients die daily.

She also said that arrangements have been made since last week to send the corona infected people admitted to the hospital home after a medical examination.

She said that although the general surgery was stopped at the hospital due to the emergency situation, the emergency surgery will continue.

About 24% of the patients admitted to the hospital need oxygen, and out of the 34 wards in the hospital, six wards are reserved for corona patients, she said.
