The delta strain of the corona virus has been identified in 11 districts and 26 cities in the island.

Accordingly, the number of patients infected with Delta strain in Sri Lanka has increased to 124.

Ministry of Health Media Spokesman Dr. Hemantha Herath stated that the Delta Infections were identified by randomized research on a very limited number of Infections.

He said that this was by no means the maximum number of data available in the country and that the number of delta infections was much higher.

Most of the delta infections are reported from the Western Province and the other areas where delta infections have been identified are as follows:
