The number of oral cancer patients in the country has increased 09 times in the last 20 years, National Cancer Control Unit of the Ministry of Health.

The use of arecanut has been identified as the main reason for this and the oral cancer is the most common cancer in men and is one of the 10 most common cancers in women,the unit said

According to the National Cancer Control Unit, about 2,700 new cases of oral cancer will be reported in 2019 and two or three deaths related to oral cancer occurring daily.
