The World Bank commends Sri Lanka’s approach to the procurement of covid vaccines.
Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, Chairman of the World Bank, said that the State Pharmaceutical Corporation has been identified as a leading institution in comparison to other institutions in South Asia due to the transparency and systematic nature of the purchase of vaccines.
In recognition of this, Sri Lanka will have the opportunity to make purchases through the World Bank website when purchasing vaccines, Prasanna Gunasena said.
This was revealed at a meeting of the Special Committee for the Suppression of Kovid at the Presidential Secretariat on the yesterday morning.
