A 66-year-old father in Rockland Estate, Beruwala has died after being severely injured by his 26-year-old son with an iron rod, Beruwala Police said.

The police say that the reason for the murder is due to a case of claiming the rights of the father’s wood cutting place to the younger son.

The victim succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara from the Beruwala Hospital.

The suspect involved in the incident has been arrested by the police.
