The president’s media unit has issued a special notice about the recent fuel price increase.

Meanwhile, Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila said that the decision to increase fuel prices was taken by a committee including the President and the Prime Minister.

He also said that he had only appointed the price increase as per the decision of the President and the Prime Minister.

He said that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had given written notice in this regard and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka had instructed to increase the fuel price.

He said these in a media briefing about recent increase of fuel price.
