The person who had given a 4-year-old child to drink “beer” had been taken to the police

The person who had given a 4-year-old child to drink “beer” in the Nuge Road area in Peliyagoda has been taken to the police this morning (June 11).

The child and the child’s mother were also called to the Peliyagoda police station. The woman told police that the boy’s father had left and that she would stay with her grandmother until she went to work.

The 25-year-old was arrested following an investigation into a video circulating on social media showing the child drinking “beer”.

After being brought to the police station, the young man stated that he had done the act as a fun activity and that there was another beverage in the can of beer.

However, the suspect was taken to the Peliyagoda police station where he was warned by the police that he should be severely punished for not committing such offences in the future.
