Person dies after being hit by a bus transporting foreigners to quarantine

A cyclist was killed after he was hit by a bus carrying foreigners for quarantine last evening (June 09).

The luxury bus was carrying a group of foreigners was travelling on the A-9 road when it collided with a bicycle while attempting to cross the road in the travelling area, police said.

Residents of the area then behaved provocatively and damaged the bus after the incident and Chavakachcheri police intervened and brought the situation under control.

Five persons have been arrested on suspicion of damaging the bus and Chavakachcheri Police are conducting further investigations.
