Sky News reports that there is a large oil slick around the ship which sank after catching fire in front of the Colombo harbour.
According to sky news, a satellite image had revealed a huge oil slick has poured into the water surrounding the damaged vessel.
Citing satellite images, they refer to the event as Sri Lanka’s worst maritime and environmental catastrophe.
The report also states that the oil slick is hundreds of meters long.
“The images, taken on Monday, show the slick is several hundred metres long. Although a part of the ship has sunk to the seabed, large sections of the wrecked ship can also be seen in the images.” Sky news
