Sri Lanka will report daily 25,000 covid patients soon

The health sector has pointed out to the government that the country will be in a serious crisis if the current situation continues in the next few weeks due to the high number of patients being reported.

The health sector will have to treat 25,000-30,000 patients daily if infections are continuing to report in the next few weeks as they are currently reporting, the weekend Lankadeepa newspaper.

They point out that this type of transmission is very contagious and that many people will become critically ill and oxygen-dependent.

Taking this situation into consideration, the Ministry of Health has decided to establish Intensive Care Units at the provincial level that can treat critically ill patients.
