The burnet ship Express Pearl in danger of sink

The wrecked ship “Express Pearl” is in danger of sinking. The Navy says that 50 per cent of the ship has been sunk due to a water leak since yesterday (June 01).

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday instructed the relevant authorities to take the “Express Pearl” ship to the deep sea.

Accordingly, a special team of the Navy entered the ship today morning (June 02) to help the rescue company and the rescue company’s tugboats have begun taking the ship to the deep sea.

However, it is reported that the process of taking it to the deep sea has been hampered due to the sinking of the ship.

The fire broke out on the Singapore-registered ship “Express Pearl” which was anchored 9.5 nautical miles off the coast of Colombo on the 20th of last month.
