It is reported that the police are working to arrest the Mayor of the Moratuwa Urban Council Saman Lal Fernando earlier this morning.
Later he has surrendered to Mount Lavinia Police with a lawyer and arrested after surrendering.

Police went to his home this morning but he was not there, sources said. The investigation is being carried out following a complaint lodged by a female doctor in Moratuwa regarding her threatening to reprimand her during an injection program.

The mayor arrived at an injection center yesterday and insisted that no one without his token should be vaccinated.
