Coronavirus current situation in Sri Lanka -The largest COVID 19 Intermediate Treatment Center with 500 beds has been completed.
Under the guidance of the Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva, on the instructions of the Commander of the Central Provincial Security Forces, Ranjan Lamahewa, the 11th Division and the 112 Brigade of the Sri Lanka Army completed the construction of a 500-bed Intermediate Treatment Plant in the Nuwara Eliya District. The Nuwara Eliya 3rd Lions Regiment in collaboration with the Nuwara Eliya District Secretary, Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council and the Nuwara Eliya District Health Services Director’s Office is carrying out the work of this Additional Treatment Center built at the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council Hall. Mayor of the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council and current Municipal Councilor Mahinda Dodampagamage submitted this fully equipped treatment center to Commander of the 3rd Sinha Regiment Asitha Ranathilake today (May 15)

IGP orders all police officers not to carry people without masks
The IGP has issued a special circular stating that those who do not wear masks should not be arrested and taken away. The circular informs all senior police officers that there is a risk of coronavirus infection in police officers if there are infected people among those being lifted. It also points out that assembling the detainees in the same vehicle could spread the virus to others. Therefore, the IGP has instructed not to pick up persons arrested in the future and not to gather in one vehicle.

If we do that we can minimize the economic damage. I urge the government to save the lives of the people of this country. We can repair the damage to the economy. Covid Infected Pregnant Mother Dies: Caesarean section saves baby’s life
A pregnant woman infected with Covid has died due to complications after giving birth to a child at Kurunegala hospital, yesterday (May 14). A 28 year old pregnant woman living in the Kobeigane area had died after giving birth to her child and she was first and admitted to the Nikaweratiya Hospital for delivery later transferred to the Kurunegala Hospital; The Deputy Director of the hospital Dr Chandana Kendagamuwa stated. A PCR examination at the hospital revealed that she was infected with corona and had a caesarean section for childbirth as she was also suffering from epilepsy but mother died due to complications caused by the exacerbation of epilepsy and doctors were able to save the baby. The baby is currently receiving treatment at the neonatal unit in a healthy condition, Deputy Director of the Kurunegala Hospital, Dr Chandana Kendagamuwa said.

District Emergency Call Centers established to solve people’s problems during the travel restrictions.
A center has been established to deal with the problems faced by the people while travel restrictions are imposed. This centre is located at Temple Trees in conjunction with the Headquarters of the Presidential Task Force under the full supervision of the Secretary to the Prime Minister. The Director-General of Government Sculptures has announced that emergency call centres will be set up at the district level.
Sri lanka reported 29 deaths yesterday
Another 29 corona deaths are announced yesterday by the Government Information Department. At the same time, the total number of corona deaths in the country has risen to 921. Most of the deaths reported were due to corona pneumonia. This is also the highest number of corona deaths in the country in a single day.
