Sri Lanka’s Four Medical Associations Warn the Government About a National catastrophe

The country’s top four medical associations have written to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to warn of a major catastrophe in the future if strict travel restrictions are not imposed soon on the spread of the coronavirus across the country.

The article also points out that the number of corona deaths could rise sharply in the next few weeks and beyond, depending on the situation. They point out that if the spread of the disease is not brought under control immediately, the costs will increase.

The letter sent by the Sri Lanka Medical Association, the Government Medical Officers ‘Association, the Specialist Physicians’ Association and the Inter-College Committee of the Sri Lanka Medical Association is as follows.
