A person has been arrested in the Kasagala area on the Southern Expressway for transporting ethanol using forged documents. Police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
The lorry had entered the Southern Expressway at the Angunakolapelessa entrance and was being chased by police officers on the expressway.
During a search police found 25 barrels of 5,000 liters of ethanol and the license issued for the transportation of ethanol was also found to be a forgery.
The driver of the lorry was a 35 year old resident of the Thorana Junction area in Kelaniya.
