The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) alleges that about 100 members of an elite group who were not previously registered to receive the corona vaccine had secretly taken the second dose of the corona vaccine at the Welikada Prison Hospital yesterday and the day before yesterday.

Dr. Rukshan Bellana, Chairman of the Association, said that a separate inquiry should be launched into the vaccination of such outsiders at a time when there is a shortage of vaccines throughout the country and he was questioning the basis on which the vaccine was given to a select group of outsiders that not registered in the list.

He also said that although the names of those who received the second dose of the vaccine at the prison hospital have not been revealed at the moment he has the ability to present evidence for an investigation.
