17 Districts Issued Red Alert on Thundershowers :
Department of Meteorology isdued red alert for 17 districts on thundershowers accompanied with severe lightning.
They can expect heavy rain fall of more than 75 mm in some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western, Uva and Southern provinces and in Mannar and Ampara districts
And also there may be a heavy windy situation at some places.
The Department of Meteorology request general public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damage caused by lightning activity.
