Sri lankan cabinet granted the approval for the development project of the West Container Terminal at the Colombo Port.
An Indian and Japanese investors has joined the development project.
The development plan has been sent to the High Commission of India and to the Embassy of Japan requesting to nominate investors.
Still Japan haven’t nominated an investor and the Indian High Commission has given the approval to the proposal of the Adhani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited.
Recommendations will be decided after discussion with both the parties. This is going to be a Public – Privert partnership for 35 years of development.
Agreement with India and Japan to jointly develop the East Container Terminal was taken out month before.
