Pushpika De Silva re-crowned as Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021

Pushpika De Silva will be recrowned as the Mrs Sri lanka 2021 tommorow in a news briefing, the event organisers said. Pushpika De Silva who was crowned as the Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021 crown was removed by Mrs. World Caroline Jurie, at a beauty pageant held last evening. Pushpika is recently admitted to the hospital for treatment. Her assistant states that she had suffered injuries to her scalp after the crown was violently pulled off her head by Mrs world 2020 She has also lodged a police complaint against Jurie and Chula Padmendra who supported the incident. Pushpika de silva had also made a social media statement on that she is not divorced and she is only seperated from her husbund.

Ranjan Ramanayake’s petition against the abolition of the seat is rejected

The Court of Appeal has rejected and dismissed the writ petition filed by Ranjan Ramanayake against the abolition of his parliamentary seat without hearing it. Petition was filed by Attorney-at-Law Suren Fernando lawyers of imprisoned Minister Ranjan Ramanayake for restraining him from losing his parliamentary seat. It was scheduled to be heard by the Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal, Arjuna Obeysekera and Mayadunne Koroya today (April 5).

Crowning of Mrs Sri lanka grand event was held in Colombo last night and contestants no 20 was crowned by Mrs. World 2020 and Mrs. Sri Lanka, Caroline Jurie. Then the winner was congratulated on stage by the Chief Guest, Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. But the people among invitees noted the judges that the winner in now divorced. Then the Caroline Jurie made an annousement that all the contestant should be married not divorced as she is crowning the second runner up as the winner. Then she removed the crown from the winner contestant no 20 on stage and crowned the first-runner up as the new winner.

Gundecha Brothers accused for sexual assault

The famous indian classical musicians Gundechas brothers have been accused of sexual harassment. A girl named as “Monica” shared her story with the media through zoom technology.The girl was raped by Ramakant Gundecha who died in November 2019, girl said to BBC nervously. The incident was happened while she was a student of Ramakant Gundecha in at his school in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Even the Gundecha had died his brothers also Umakant and Akhilesh also have accused for sexual harassment and assault on female students of the music school. SLSI DG makes problematic statements on foodstuffs with hazardous substances

Dr. Siddika Senarathne, Director General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institute, has found that several other foods contain cancer that causes aflatoxin toxins. She said she would not disclose further details when speaking of Hiru TV, as it would pose a danger that these companies and products will collapse. She said SLSI took action against these companies. She also said that in the past, not only cocoa oil, but numerous other food items including canned fish were re-exported after harmful substances had been found. SLSI’s Director General has also disclosed that Aflatoxins come from molds. The mold can be found in coconut oil in dried coconut grains (copra) and aflatoxins may be found in locally manufactured coconut oil if copra with the mold is used for manufacturing. She also highlighted the need for strict legislation and regulations to heavily penalize the companies involved. Newswire

Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader states that Bangladesh is going to impose a week long lock down from tomorrow. They took this decision as COVID-19 cases and deaths increased across the country. Also in India biggest cities developed stricter lock down rules after country get the highest COVID 19 infections after six months. This is the third time country hit the highest with the pandemic.

Prostitution, casinos would be legal in Port City? SJB

The CEO of the The Samagi Jana Balawegaya questions the government whether the prostitution would be legalised in the Colombo Port City and as permission granted for casinos as well. He expressed his ideas on a media conference and he compare the situation with the other parts of the world where casinos are legalised. He said that “This will be similar to Hong Kong and China,” and also he said that people in that apartments would have different set of laws while the existing laws will apply to other residents in Colombo.

Four peoples were arrested for transporting explosives without license

Police has arrested four people for transportexplosives without license in Bakamuna area on the Na Ula-Elahera road, police said. They were arrested while they are transporting the explosives in a three wheeler.Police have found 03 kg 230 g of ammonia, 135 g of water gel, 20 g of gun powder, 14 detonator caps, wire rolls, a stone drill, and several other items with the suspect. The arrested suspects are identified as residents of Avissawella and they are taken in to the police custody.
