Ranjan Ramanayake’s parliamentary seat will be vacated, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has informed Parliament.

The Speaker said that the Secretary General of Parliament had informed the Election Commission of the vacancy.

Ranjan Ramanayake, has been sentenced to four year in prison for convicted of contempt of court.
