Another 41 are omicron infected found

 Dr Chandima Jeewandara says that 41 more Omicron infections have been found in this country. Dr Chandima Jeewandara further states that the total number of Omicron infections in the country is 45.  In a Twitter message, he further urged that for the safety of himself and his loved ones, everyone should take the booster dose as soon as possible.  Meanwhile, another 18 covid deaths were reported yesterday.

Sri Lankan killed in Seychelles

Seychelles police are investigating the murder of a Sri Lankan man. Foreign media have reported that investigations are underway into the murder of a 47 – year – old Sri Lankan man who worked for a construction company on the Seychelles’ Ladigu Island.  The Sri Lankan man was found dead at his home on December 10 by the Sri Lankan police. An official of the company had gone to the house where the person was staying and informed the police that he had fallen in his room as he had not reported to work for several days. The police later revealed that the man had died and a subsequent autopsy revealed that he had been strangled to death. According to foreign media reports, the police have launched an investigation into the murder of the Sri Lankan and so far no suspect has been identified.

The quality of Sri Lankan fuels has deteriorated vehicles are in danger

According to Asanka Bandara, the champion of automotive engineering and motor racing, the quality of Sri Lankan fuels has deteriorated recently. The price of a 400 gram packet of milk powder has been increased by Rs. 60 and a kilo packet of milk powder by Rs. 150.  Accordingly, according to the new prices, 400 grams of milk powder is Rs. 540 and a kilo packet is Rs. 1345. The Milk Powder Importers’ Association is setting the price after the government gave up price control.

According to the amended cyber crime law of the United Arab Emirates Clicking on someone’s pictures in public without permission will be punished with six months imprisonment in the UAE or a fine of 150,000 to 500,000 dirhams or both. The UAE’s revised cybercrime law will provide greater security for citizens and residents in the growing digital age. The new law, which will take effect on January 2, 2022, will impose stricter penalties for certain crimes, such as damaging data systems in the banking, media, health and science sectors. The new law protects Internet users from electronic fraud and protects their privacy and rights. It empowers the court to confiscate devices, software, content, or other means used in crime. One of the major changes in the new law is that it involves taking photos or videos of people in public places, which has now been made a punishable offense.

Due to false propaganda people refuse to take booster dose

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that people are afraid to take the booster vaccine due to false statements made by certain organizations. Dr. Senal Fernando of the association said that due to this many people are refusing to get the booster vaccine.  Dr. Senal Fernando points out that due to this we will have to face a big problem in the future.

Minister Prasanna receives strong allegations from a dual citizen woman

Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has committed a land fraud, says Rajeevi de Silva, a resident of Thalawathugoda. She says that the minister has looted government lands and that she has all the documents to prove that. She is a dual citizen of Australia and Sri Lanka and revealed this in an interview with a youtube channel. A woman from London was killed and given to a crocodile to eat

The Kilinochchi Police arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a mother of five in the Udayanagar, Ambalakulam area in Kilinochchi and dumping her body in a canal containing crocodiles. It has been revealed that the deceased mother had come to the Ambalkulam area in Kilinochchi three years ago after living with her children in London, England. Rasendram Rajalakshmi, a 67-year-old mother of five from Ambalkulam, had been living in a rented house in Ambalakula, Udayanagar and her relatives had complained to the Kilinochchi Police that she had been missing since last night. Police later found several blood stains on the floor of the house where the mother was staying and arrested a 22-year-old suspect during a further investigation based on information provided by residents. Further questioning of the suspect by the police revealed that the woman had been killed and her body had been transported on a motorbike and dumped in a canal in Kandapuram, 18 km away from the house, which is infested with crocodiles. According to the suspect, the body of the woman had been found floating in the canal by the police. At the same time, an investigation has been launched into whether another person was involved in dumping the body in the canal. The arrested suspect is to be produced before the Kilinochchi Magistrate’s Court, the Kilinochchi Police said.
