A woman from London was killed and given to a crocodile to eat

The Kilinochchi Police arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a mother of five in the Udayanagar, Ambalakulam area in Kilinochchi and dumping her body in a canal containing crocodiles.

It has been revealed that the deceased mother had come to the Ambalkulam area in Kilinochchi three years ago after living with her children in London, England.

Rasendram Rajalakshmi, a 67-year-old mother of five from Ambalkulam, had been living in a rented house in Ambalakula, Udayanagar and her relatives had complained to the Kilinochchi Police that she had been missing since last night.

Police later found several blood stains on the floor of the house where the mother was staying and arrested a 22-year-old suspect during a further investigation based on information provided by residents.

Further questioning of the suspect by the police revealed that the woman had been killed and her body had been transported on a motorbike and dumped in a canal in Kandapuram, 18 km away from the house, which is infested with crocodiles.

According to the suspect, the body of the woman had been found floating in the canal by the police. At the same time, an investigation has been launched into whether another person was involved in dumping the body in the canal. The arrested suspect is to be produced before the Kilinochchi Magistrate’s Court, the Kilinochchi Police said.
