A decision is made about the power cut in the country

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that it does not expect any power cuts throughout the island today (08).

A spokesman for the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) told that there was no need for a power cut as the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) could generate electricity with the supply of fuel.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has suspended the supply of fuel due to non-payment by the CEB, disrupting power generation at the Sapugaskanda and Kukule Ganga power plants.

Due to this power outages were experienced in several parts of the island yesterday (07) and the day before yesterday (06) from 05.30 pm to 09.30 pm.
